ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Based on the prestigious Place Saint-Georges in Paris, this apartment was acquired by Luis Laplace and his partner Christophe Comoy in 2007 and holds a special story. After 15 years, the space underwent a remarkable transformation, merging the timeless elegance of classic colonial Parisian architecture with a modern and extravagant curation.
Throughout the project, the influence of modern colonial style is evident—a design aesthetic that seamlessly combines traditional elegance with contemporary elements. Laplace and Comoy tailored the decor to reflect their personal preferences and lifestyle, resulting in a harmonious fusion of heritage and innovation through a unique and captivating environment that strikes a perfect balance between the past and the present.
The bold colors make a striking statement in select accent pieces and wall treatments, while traditional furniture featuring clean lines and modern upholstery seamlessly integrates with the colonial aesthetic. The addition of statement chandeliers, antique mirrors, and artwork further enriches the ambiance, adding layers of sophistication to the space.
The fusion of colonial and modern design elements offers homeowners the opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds. Modern furniture complements and contrasts the ornate details of colonial architecture, resulting in an enchanting juxtaposition that imbues the space with a classic yet refreshingly modern ambiance. This harmonious blend allows for a timeless and sophisticated atmosphere, where the past gracefully meets the present.
